Chinotto is a very precious and rare Citrus Essential Oil, and we at Mantra Aromatherapy are delighted to offer it as part of our Rare and Remarkable Citrus Essential Oil range.
Chinotto fruits resemble in size, shape and colour (when ripe) regular Oranges, but the aroma of Chinotto fruit and its associated Essential Oil is markedly more intense and they taste very sour and tart compared to regular Oranges.
As it is a rare product we are currently only able to offer pure Chinotto Essential Oil in 1ml and 5ml sizes.
An interesting fact about Chinotto is that it is used as a flavouring agent in a lot of Italian carbonated soft drinks and aperitifs like Campari. It is also a flavouring ingredient in many Italian after-dinner bitter digestive herbal drinks such as Averna and Cynar.
Chinotto Essential Oil is stimulating and refreshing to the body. It helps combat stress, tension, anxiety, mental fatigue and nervous conditions when used regularly.
As with a lot Citrus Essential Oils it is a strong anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory agent, making it useful in skin care support to de-toxify and remove impurities. It is great for oily and greasy hair and skin types as it can re-address and help normalize the balance of oil secretions.
In body massage it is stimulating to the digestive and circulatory systems and helps to cleanse and remove impurities from the body.
Chinotto is also highly anti-bacterial, a useful anti-fungicidal agent and is naturally high in anti-oxidants, making it an excellent choice to combat aging as it helps to scavenge free-radicals that can cause premature damage to cells.
As the aroma is so strong and deeply refreshing, it can be burnt to create an incredible ambience in a room and to deodorize if you require a quick breeze of Citrus freshness.
This unique Essential Oil could also be used in candles, potpourri and soaps if you feel like making something very special.
