Oil taken from - Tree bark - of the Cinnamosma fragrans tree.
Extraction Method - Steam distillation.
Aroma Description - A highly masculine aroma - Earthy & green, with fresh
& dry woody notes, and powdery balsamic undertones.
Traditional uses for Katafray Essential Oil include -
Katafray has a notably high percentage of sesquiterpenes (over 65%).
Sesquiterpenes have powerful effects on the body - they are deeply calming and are strongly anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial in nature.
It is a useful ingredient in massage blends to help soothe tired & sore muscles and help ease the discomfort of stiff arthritic joints.
Antimicrobial - useful when fighting infections such as sore throats and protecting against colds during the Winter months.
Often used in skin and hair care preparations for oily and compacted skin types, acne and blemished skins, and oily hair types, it is astringent and a clarifying tonic.
Used in high end perfumery - mostly to add a delicious aroma to men's aftershaves and products.
Katafray should be used with caution with allergy and asthma sufferers - a patch test prior to use is always recommended if prone to sensitivity.
Katafray blends well with -
