undertones.

Side note on which Cinnamon to choose -

Cinnamon Bark has a stronger more pungent 'Cinnamon' aroma due to the higher content of Cinnamadehyde, Cinnamon leaf has more Eugenol which is a strong antiseptic and anaesthetic compound and less Cinnamadehyde so it has a softer and more gentle Cinnamon aroma.

Cinnamon leaf is used more in Aromatherapy as it is less likely to irritate the skin once diluted in a carrier for massage than Cinnamon Bark.  Cinnamon Bark is better for burning and natural candle making.

If your unsure which type you have at home from the fragrance alone, have a look at the colour - Cinnamon Leaf is is a pale yellow colour, Cinnamon Bark usually has a reddish tint to it and is a much darker colour.

Cinnamon Bark and Leaf should not be used at all during pregnancy.

Cinnamon Bark is a little more expensive than Cinnamon Leaf.
