Traditional uses for French Marigold Essential Oil include -
French Marigold - also known as Tagetes oil is a soothing and relaxing essential oil, used to reduce anxiety and stressful conditions.
It is used extensively in perfumery and also in skin care preparations as it is nourishing and enriches products for dry and mature skin types.
It is also a useful antimicrobial/anti-fungicidal and antiseptic agent making it an excellent choice to help maintain skin health generally.
It can be used successfully as an insect repellent and also when used with Ylang Ylang, Tea-Tree and Lavender is also highly successful in getting rid of fleas, nits and other pests.
Please note - French Marigold is a photosensitizer - so it should not be put on the skin before going out into direct and strong sunlight or prior to a sunbed use as skin irritation may occur.
