Screwpine Flower is an interesting, rare and precious Essential Oil, that we at Mantra Aromatherapy are pleased to present for retail as part of our Rare & Precious Essential Oils Range.

As it is a rare Essential Oil Mantra Aromatherapy are currently only able to offer Screwpine Flower in 1ml and 5ml sizes.

Screwpine Flower is a dioecious plant, and the Essential Oil is taken from the smaller, more fragrant clusters of male flowers and not the larger female flowers that then go on to produce fruit and seed pods.

Screwpine Flower has been used in Ayurvedic treatments for generations for conditions such as headaches, earaches and for easing the pain of rheumatic joints.

This potent Essential Oil uplifts a low mood and supports a positive mental attitude.  It is calming and soothing to the body.

With an impressive anti-microbial and anti-fungicidal index it is a useful choice in skin & haircare preparations for greasy and oily skin and hair types as it helps to regulate oil production on the skin and scalp.  It is toning and restorative, and helps the skin feel radiant and fresh when used regularly.

It can be used to reduce inflammation in stiff, sore and tense joints and muscles and improves localized circulation when used in massage, due to its strong anti-inflammatory qualities.

Screwpine Flower can also be used in Perfumery for its quirky and unusual (bit highly pleasant) aroma.  For this reason it can also be used when making bath bombs, candles, reed diffusers etc, as the aroma is unusual but highly likable!
