Also known as Bergamot Orange, Melarosa is an interesting Citrus fruit that produces a powerful Essential Oil.
True Melarosa is a very precious and rare Citrus Essential Oil, and we at Mantra Aromatherapy are delighted to offer it as part of our Rare and Remarkable Citrus Essential Oil range.
Melarosa fruits are about the size of a regular Orange, and are a green to yellow colour depending on the level of the fruits ripeness.
It is believed that Melarosa is a hybrid of Lemon and Bitter Orange.
The name Melrosa means in Latin -
Mel = 'Honey', and
Rosa = 'Rose'.
It is often (incorrectly) said that Melrosa has a strong, rosy aroma, but this is not correct, although it does have mild floral undertones, reminiscent of Orange Blossoms.
As it is a rare product we are currently only able to offer pure Melarosa Essential Oil in 1ml and 5ml sizes.
Melrosa Essential Oil is stimulating and uplifting to the body. It helps combat stress, tension, anxiety, mental fatigue and nervous conditions when used regularly.
As with a lot Citrus Essential Oils it is a strong anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory agent, making it useful in skin care support to de-toxify and remove impurities. It is great for oily and greasy hair and skin types as it can re-address and help normalize the balance of oil secretions.
In body massage it is stimulating to the digestive and circulatory systems and helps to cleanse and remove impurities from the body.
Melrosa is also highly anti-bacterial, a useful anti-fungicidal agent and is naturally high in anti-oxidants, making it an excellent choice to combat aging as it helps to scavenge free-radicals that can cause premature damage to cells.
As the aroma is so deeply refreshing & invigorating and Melrosa can be burnt to create an incredible ambience in a room and to deodorize if you require a quick breeze of freshness.
This unique Essential Oil could also be used in candles, potpourri and soaps if you feel like making something very special.
