Botanical Name - Cistus - (Rock Rose) - Labdanum Oil - Cistus Ladaniferus.

Plant Origin -  Spain.

Oil taken from - Leaves and tops.

Extraction Method - Steam Distillation.

Aroma Description - A woody, herbaceous and balsamic aroma with gently spicy and floral undertones.


Traditional uses for Cistus Essential Oil include -

Also known as Rock Rose and Labdanum Essential Oil.

Calming and soothing Essential Oil, used for soothing the mind and body.

A widely used substitute for Ambergris (from Sperm Whales), which is often used with Ambrette, a substitute for Musk (from Musk Deer).  This aromatic coupling is used primarily for meditation to help achieve focus.

Cistus is a useful anti-inflammatory and analgesic Essential Oil that is useful for muscular aches and pains, stiff and sore joints, cramp and muscle spasms.

In skin care preparations Cistus is extremely hydrating and nourishing making it a great choice for dry, mature and parched skins.

Can be burnt to help with coughs, mucous build up and lung congestion in the respiratory tract, helping to release congestion and improve lung support.

Cistus Essential Oil blends well with -
