Kokum Seed Butter - Garcinia indica

Oil taken from - Kokum Fruit Seeds.

Extraction Method - Cold pressed.

Colour - Pale Ivory.

Aroma - Kokum Seed Butter has a very mild aroma, making it an excellent choice for making products as its own aroma does not distract from the aroma of the blend or product being prepared.

Absorption rate - Medium absorption rate into the skin.

Traditional uses for Kokum Seed Butter include -

Used widely in cosmetics and products for the body, face and hair as an alternative to Cocoa Nut Butter when the base aroma of the raw material needs to be odourless.

It also provides greater stability in product making that Cocoa Nut Butter and is a very firm and solid base Butter.

Kokum Seed Butter provides intensive moisturisation when added to body butters, balms, salves, lip balms, hand lotions, soaps, and hair masques and conditioners. 

Good for all skin types especially dry and mature skins in need of extra nourishment. This is provided by Kokum Seed Butters high index of fatty acids, and its impressive levels of polyphenols (anti-oxidants) and Vitamins.

The antioxidant content helps combat premature aging and skin damage from the sun, it also smooths and nourishes the skin, helping it appear youthful and fresh.

It is lovely emollient addition to hair conditioners and masques to improve the strength and shine of the hair, and makes dry and brittle hair feel more smooth and conditioned.

Use as a massage medium for hands on massage once gently warmed it will also allow Essential Oils to blend with it to enhance a massage treatment.

Kokum Seed Butter -

Can also be used as a stand alone massage medium (once gently warmed) or can be added to other carrier oils/butters - between a 10-30% addition to other carriers/butters is acceptable to enrich and enhance the therapeutic qualities of the massage medium or product being made.

Product Safety -

Always store pure Butter Bases in an upright position with the zip lock bag seal firmly in place.

To maximise the shelf life of any Butter Base it should be stored out of direct sunlight, in a cool, dry environment.  - A medicine cabinet is ideal or Butter Bases can also be refrigerated* to prolong their shelf-life. 

*Please note that Butter Bases will become more solid if stored below room temperature and will remain so until gently brought back up to room temperature.

Butter Bases should never be -

taken internally,

never be put in or near the eyes nor put on areas of damaged or inflamed skin. 

they should be stored away from children and used with caution around babies, small children and pets.
