All types of Tea come from Camellia sinensis - White, Black, Green, Yellow and Oolong.
Black Tea Absolute is a concentrated aromatic extract obtained from fully fermented Camellia sinensis leaves. Unlike steam‑distilled tea essential oils, Black Tea Absolute captures the deeper, more robust aromatic profile created during the oxidation (fermentation) process.
Depending on the extraction process Black Tea Absolute can be naturally thick and resinous, and often requires gentle warming or dilution to make it easier to work with.
After looking at this end product, we at Mantra decided that it made the product very difficult to work with and looked for alternative extraction methods to find a quality product that was also easier to work with.
We finally decided on a solvent extraction product that is hexane-free and has a much lighter, workable profile after secondary clarification processes. Our product varies in colour from almost clear to pale amber in colour, and is, we think, a product that works well for mainstream product making and Aromatherapy purposes. Die hard perfumers may well prefer the thick, almost solid product that needs to be diluted before becoming workable, and if this is what your looking for then this lighter profile product will not be for you.
As our solvent extraction with secondary clarification Black Tea Absolute is such a rare product we can currently only offer it in 1ml size.
