Plai is a close relative of Ginger and is the same Genus - Zingiber.

Plai has a more gentle, subtle and complex aroma than Ginger making it a great choice for those who have a sensitive aroma palette and find the fragrance of Ginger a little overpowering.  This also makes Plai a useful choice for children and the elderly as it is sweeter and milder than Ginger, but still has a strong therapeutic index.

Plai is useful to help rebalance poor digestion - acid reflux, nausea, colic, intestinal spasms and bloating/flatulence.

It is also a powerful expectorant, releasing mucous from the airways and also helping with respiratory conditions such as colds and flu, coughs, asthma, bronchitis,

Strong anti-inflammatory agent with analgesic qualities, reducing stiffness in the joints, and aches and pains in the muscles, whilst improving circulation.

Plai is also rich in antioxidants which in turn help to scavenge free-radicals.  This helps prevent excessive cell damage, and act as a tonic to the systems of the body, making Plai an excellent choice when making skin and hair care products.

It is also used in high end perfumery as it's delicious aroma lends itself to blend beautifully with many other Essential Oils.

Plai works in a positive way on the emotions, reducing stress, tension and anxiety, particularly when burnt or when used in a luxurious aromatic bath.

Plai blends well with -

Green Pepper, Lemongrass, Green Cardamom, Frankincense, Hakka, Rose Geranium, Eucalyptus, Sweet Orange, Clementine and Rosemary Essential Oils amongst many others.
