Absorption rate - Absorbs very slowly into the skin, taking much longer than lighter, less nourishing carrier oils. It can leave a heavy, thick and sticky waxy barrier on the skin and for this reason should not be used as a stand alone carrier.

Traditional uses for Organic Castor Carrier include -
Can be used on most skin types but is particularly good for dry, sun-damaged, parched and mature skins as it is nourishing and protecting to the skins surface especially when its been exposed to harsh environments such as excessive heat, dryness, water or cold weather.
Organic Castor Carrier is an emulsifying agent and can be used successfully in oil based perfumes as a fixative agent.
Due to the high levels of Omega 3 fatty acids this carrier is particularly softening, emollient and nourishing. It can be used as an enriching massage medium for hands on massage, as a Carrier Oil to dilute Essential Oils into and can also be added to skin care preparations to enhance and add nourishment to the qualities of the blend or product.
Commonly added to face creams, lip balms and products to help relieve brittle and dry nails/cuticles it softens and has excellent hydration qualities. It is a sensible addition to products for damaged and dry hair and scalps, helping to smooth the hair shaft cuticle and hydrate the scalp.
Organic Castor Carrier Oil -
Can be added in a 10-20% dilution to enhance other carrier oils, and can help provide prolonged slip during massage due to its very slow absorption rate. Not recommended to use as a stand alone carrier due to its heavy, thick and sticky waxy feel when applied to the skin.

Product Safety -
Always store pure Carrier Oils in an upright position with their cap firmly secured in place.
To maximise the shelf life of any Carrier Oil it should be stored out of direct sunlight, in a cool, dry environment. - A medicine cabinet is ideal or Carrier Oils can also be refrigerated* to prolong their shelf-life.
*Please note that some Carrier Oils will become more viscous and/or solidify if stored below room temperature and will remain so until gently brought back up to room temperature.
