Indian Frankincense is a great choice when a gentler aroma than regular Frankincense (Boswellia carterii) is required. It's aroma is milder and very pleasant making it a superior choice for children and individuals who don't enjoy strong smells.
Indian Frankincense is similar chemically to regular Frankincense, but there are a few important differences on top of the gentler aroma profile.
For example Indian Frankincense has higher levels of Boswellic acids, which are potent anti-inflammatory agents. This makes Indian Frankincense a sensible choice when making blends for joint pain, arthritis and inflammatory bowel disorders.
